How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love AI

Back in the late 90`s of the last century (or the last millennium, depending on whom you ask) – I began my journey as a "3D artist", using Maya and 3D Studio software. Over time, after I started my studies in the photography department of Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design - virtual cameras in polygonal spaces were replaced by real film cameras and lighting, and I absolutely loved it! Like the last samurai - I refused to part with the chemicals and embrace the digital age, but then I gave in. Photoshop, though it couldn't replace my skills with lighting and constructing complex frames, became a true companion.

And then, came the AI. And it’s really unlike anything I've encountered before. I mean, it is similar – they are still images. But the creative process, my way of thinking, and my workflow – have completely changed!

For the last two years, I was dedicated almost exclusively to researching and experimenting with generative AI across its` various applications. I fought valiantly with terms like "Diffusers" and "Transformers", learned to whisper precise and effective prompts to the machine to generate those "WOW" images I sought to create, and reached groundbreaking and valuable insights – figuring out how to integrate these tools into my workflow to save myself and my clients considerable amounts of time and money. And as someone who believes that knowledge is a resource that shouldn’t be hoarded: I’ve poured all of my insights and rich experience in visual field - into a series of workshops, designed to train photographers and designers in working with AI tools.
